Status Of RMS and Spot Billing

RMS Software is developed by CBG Jabalpur and all the implementation is planned and decided by them. This company is fully dependent on CBG for implementation. The Parallel Run of RMS at Jabalpur East Division started in Jan 04. The new version is loaded there after modifications and parallel run is still being continued in the month of April 04. It is planned that once Jabalpur East Division goes live all the 5 city divisions of Company will be taken up for parallel run and balance 2 O&M divisions will be taken in the subsequent month.

Present Status

• Server room for four City Divisions had setup with required Electrical and Civil work.

• Servers of four City Divisions and one O&M Dn is installed at server room and required software loaded on these machines

• Temporary LAN was initially setup with 25 computers.

• Data entry started with engaging out-sourced agency.

• Temporary LAN extended to 35 computers to speed up data entry work.

• Version 1.1.2 of RMS loaded on 7 servers and data entry for the balance consumers in progress planned to be finished by 15^th May 04

Bottlenecks

• Following support were needed from CBG during data entry process

Ø Conversion of latest bill file data for city Circle Indore, check for the changes occurred after December 02 and their listing.

Ø Report generation of 11 KV and LT Poles for O&M division.

Ø Modification permissions for O&M divisions.

Ø A provision for transferring last six readings of the consumers from the existing LT Billing system as these readings are to be displayed in the revised bill forms.

On Spot Billing

On spot billing will start with the rollout of RMS initially in priority division and later on in other divisions as and when the RMS billing is started which is being finalized by CBG form Jabalpur
